SNAP (The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) submitted to Cardinal Parolin a list of six of the papabile cardinals who have “either enabled or concealed sexual abuse committed by Catholic Clergy”: Péter Erdő from Hungary, Kevin Farrell from the United States, Victor Manuel Fernández from Argentina, Mario Grech from Malta, Robert Francis Prevost from the United States, and Luis Antonio Tagle from the Philippines.  Also troubling is that Prevost was the favorite candidate of Fr. James Martin.

4. What the New Pope’s Name Means for His Mission – Jeffrey Tucker, 5/13/25. Pope Leo XIII: two highly significant actions:
   • “The Syllabus of Errors” of 1864, which condemned religious freedom in no uncertain terms, and
   • The calling of a Vatican Council that lasted from 1869 to 1870 where Papal Infallibility was defined.
   • Lord Acton wrote his famous phrase: “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” It is usually believed to pertain to the government, but the historical context is different. He was speaking of the absolute power of the Pope!
   • Pius IX’s demands were eventually rejected by the Bishops and only the fallback position came to be codified, which is that the Pope reserves the power over faith and morals when speaking Ex Cathedra.

1. • Pope Leo has recently asserted multiple times that Pope Francis is in Heaven.  This is deeply problematic.  Such statements cause the faithful to doubt the gravity of Francis’s public sins – idol-worship (Pachamama), the suppression of an ancient apostolic rite of the Church, syncretism and religious relativism, the protection and promotion of predators and deviants, the abuse of the Church’s law, the teaching of heresy, etc.
   • Pope Francis may not be a formal heretic, but it’s clear that he was heretical.
   • Many theologians have begun to question the infallibility of canonizations… The canonization of Paul VI happened for one reason only, and that was to send a message to the faithful that if they think Vatican II was a disaster then, well, tough luck, because “there’s no going back.”
   • It is almost unthinkable – if the tradition of the Church on matters of idolatry, abuse of law, corruption of holy offices, etc., is taken seriously – that Francis is now in Heaven.

   • In 2019, Paglia gutted the JP2 Institute by dismissing the president Monsignor Livio Melina and suspending all professors. He then hired new staff who advocated for moral positions contrary to the teaching of the Catholic Church, including the blessing of homosexual couples and the reception of the sacraments.
