   • The DNR was pushed by doctors relentlessly during Covid and I have heard story after story as in the case with Kristi Schmadl’s mother, Joyce. She and her sister were contacted multiple times by her mother’s doctor and told to sign a DNR. They refused every time, but the doctor became irate and told them over the phone that if they did not sign a DNR they (the doctors) would put one on her, completely against the law. As you can see below, Kristi’s mom’s medical records clearly indicate the family wanted to transfer her mother to another hospital but the hospital already had plans to kill her with end-of-life care and a DNR.

A durable power of attorney is a better option than an advanced directive, especially to ensure you receive no less than ordinary care (artificial nutrition and hydration at the end of his life) and no more extraordinary care than he and his wife would want for him (say, a certain amount of time on a ventilator, but no more, based on Catholic bioethics.)
    2. Nowadays, most hospice care and palliative care businesses are euthanasia-based.
    3. the Catholic Church permits narcotics for pain relief, just never to the point that it causes respiratory arrest. Loss of consciousness should be avoided except for very serious reasons.

    1. A donated heart is always cut out of a living body in first world countries. Harvard Medical invented the cover, “Brain Death” precisely so as to justify the harvesting of hearts from living people.
    2. Numerous people who had formerly been declared “brain dead” have actually recovered. Dr. Shewmon MD of Pediatric Neurology at UCLA has demonstrated that children who have survived as brain dead for up to 14 years have overcome infections and even their wounds.
    3. Byrne et. al. in the book Life, Life Support and Death write: “No one shall be determined or declared dead unless and until there is destruction of at least the three basic unifying systems of the body, namely, the circulatory and respiratory systems, and the entire brain.”
