- Do Not Resuscitate – by Greta Crawford – 4/23/25 (subscription required). This article asserts that the huge financial incentive is clouding the decision making at hospitals. Do Not Resuscitate orders enhance chances of death, and a big payday for hospitals:
- The DNR was pushed by doctors relentlessly during Covid and I have heard story after story as in the case with Kristi Schmadl’s mother, Joyce. She and her sister were contacted multiple times by her mother’s doctor and told to sign a DNR. They refused every time, but the doctor became irate and told them over the phone that if they did not sign a DNR they (the doctors) would put one on her, completely against the law. As you can see below, Kristi’s mom’s medical records clearly indicate the family wanted to transfer her mother to another hospital but the hospital already had plans to kill her with end-of-life care and a DNR.
- What Hospitals Make in Each State per COVID patient: SC $186K, NC $252K, AZ 23K, MN $380K, IA $235K, NY $12K, NE $379K, CA $145K, FL $132K, TX 184K.

- Guidelines for Catholic Bioethics – Padre Peregrino, Priest and ex-Paramedic, 5/29/26. In end-of-life decisions, a loved-one has more power than a signed-will when it comes to hostile clinicians.
- A durable power of attorney is a better option than an advanced directive, especially to ensure you receive no less than ordinary care (artificial nutrition and hydration at the end of his life) and no more extraordinary care than he and his wife would want for him (say, a certain amount of time on a ventilator, but no more, based on Catholic bioethics.)
- Nowadays, most hospice care and palliative care businesses are euthanasia-based.
- the Catholic Church permits narcotics for pain relief, just never to the point that it causes respiratory arrest. Loss of consciousness should be avoided except for very serious reasons.

- ‘Brain death’ is a fallacy used to prop up the organ harvesting industry – LifeSite – 4/16/24. The concept of ‘brain death’ is factually baseless, but powerful medical organizations like the American Academy of Neurology are imposing it on America, threatening the lives of brain-injured people.

Documented cases exist of “brain dead” patients who were conscious. 20.8% of patients had neurologic activity incompatible with procurement — yet transplant coordinators still pushed to proceed.
- Why You Should Say ‘No’ to Being an Organ-Donor – Padre Peregrino, priest and ex-paramedic, 5/15/26. The Catholic Church has no problem with organ donation per-se. The problem is that certain organs are alwayscut out of living people, effecting a homicide for “good reasons.”
- A donated heart is always cut out of a living body in first world countries. Harvard Medical invented the cover, “Brain Death” precisely so as to justify the harvesting of hearts from living people.
- Numerous people who had formerly been declared “brain dead” have actually recovered. Dr. Shewmon MD of Pediatric Neurology at UCLA has demonstrated that children who have survived as brain dead for up to 14 years have overcome infections and even their wounds.
- Byrne et. al. in the book Life, Life Support and Death write: “No one shall be determined or declared dead unless and until there is destruction of at least the three basic unifying systems of the body, namely, the circulatory and respiratory systems, and the entire brain.”
