Catholic Leadership Critique Rationale

Many people reject and even condemn any criticism of the Pope, the Bishops or the Catholic Church in general. However, I have come to realize that if a person of authority in the Church is in conflict with the perennial Catholic Faith on a particular issue, they are to be resisted, not blindly obeyed. See Paul’s rebuke of Peter to his face in Galatians 2:11-14.

In addition, the Code of Canon Law, 212, states:

Christ’s faithful are at liberty to make known their needs, especially their spiritual needs, and their wishes to the Pastors of the Church. They have the right, indeed at times the duty, in keeping with their knowledge, competence and position, to manifest to the sacred Pastors their views on matters which concern the good of the Church.  They have the right also to make their views known to others of Christ’s faithful, but in doing so they must always respect the integrity of faith and morals, show due reverence to their Pastors, and take into account both the common good and dignity of individuals (emphasis added).

Finally, other sources that I deeply respect have weighed in on this:

I will always be Catholic since it is the one Church founded by Jesus Christ, who promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against it (Mt 16:18).  However, I believe we must face the cold, hard truth that the Catholic Church has become corrupted in many ways. It is my hope that exposing this corruption will encourage all Catholics to hold Church Leadership accountable and to ultimately repair the damage done to the faithful and to confirm the one true Faith.

Code of Canon Law, 212 from Vatican.va

Can. 212 §1. Conscious of their own responsibility, the Christian faithful are bound to follow with Christian obedience those things which the sacred pastors, inasmuch as they represent Christ, declare as teachers of the faith or establish as rulers of the Church.

  • §2. The Christian faithful are free to make known to the pastors of the Church their needs, especially spiritual ones, and their desires.
  • §3. According to the knowledge, competence, and prestige which they possess, they have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful, without prejudice to the integrity of faith and morals, with reverence toward their pastors, and attentive to common advantage and the dignity of persons.

    • There is nothing Christian about facilitating the erosion of national identity. Nowhere is it written that God promised any people the right to gate crash another country and demand social services.
    • The human right to emigrate — leave one’s homeland — entails no right to enter — immigrate to — whichever country the emigrant chooses. To insist otherwise is to rob natal citizens of the fruits of their own labor. It cheats them, too, of the continuity of the social and historic dimensions of their own culture.

  1. People have the right to migrate to sustain their lives and the lives of their families.
  2. A country has the right to regulate its borders and to control immigration.
  3. A country must regulate its borders with justice and mercy.
    • The Catholic Church teaches that every person has basic human rights and is entitled to have basic human needs met—food, shelter, clothing, education, and health care. (Freely offered or by mandate?  What limits?  What about the existing poor already in the country?)
    • Current immigration policy that criminalizes the mere attempt to immigrate and imprisons immigrants who have committed no crime or who have already served a just sentence for a crime is immoral.  (So, is it acceptable to break the laws associated with principle #2? Can we choose to break other laws?)
    • It is the position of the Catholic Church that pastoral, educational, medical, and social services provided by the Church are never conditioned on legal status. All persons are invited to participate in our parishes, attend our schools, and receive other services offered by our institutions and programs. (That’s all fine but what about the collateral damage caused by human trafficking, a direct result of the Catholic Church encouraging illegal immigration?)

    • In 2020, the general U.S. population had higher excess mortality than group life holders, but in 2021, that flipped. Ages 25 through 64 of the group life policyholders suddenly experienced 40% excess mortality, compared to 32% in the general population. In short, a far healthier subset of the population suddenly died at a higher rate than the general population.
    • In the five years before COVID, there were 29-30 million disabled Americans.  After the COVID jabs, starting in May 2021, the disability trend changed dramatically. As of September 2022, there were 33.2 million disabled Americans. That’s an extra 3.2 – 4.2 million people becoming disabled. That’s a three standard deviation rate of change since May 2021.
    • In 2019, the average life span of Americans of all ethnicities was nearly 79 years. By the end of 2021, life expectancy had dropped to 76 — a loss of nearly three years. Typically, a drop in life expectancy by a mere month or two is a big deal, so a three-year loss is a sign that something catastrophic has occurred.
    • It’s also rather incriminating that The New York Times article that reported this historical decline in life expectancy was quickly deleted, as were all reposts. To me, the decrease in life expectancy is, on its face, evidence that the COVID shots are a dangerous fraud. Probably, the article was scrubbed to protect the pro-jab narrative.
    • If 2020 was so exciting to the media and the health officials that counted all the deaths with such glee, why are they not talking about the excessive death rates we’re now seeing globally, especially amongst the younger age working folks and the employed folks?
